Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Class Description

Teen & Adult Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) (Ages 14 & up)

The Teen & Adult Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) program captures the combative essence of martial arts and is designed as a new hybrid-hardcore course. This course will focus on fighting tactics, including drills and scenarios with empty hands. Our Teen & Adult MMA program was developed for a few purposes. First, the MMA program helps fighters get ready to compete in amateur and eventually professional Mixed Martial Arts fight circuits worldwide. Second, the MMA program gives athletes, who just enjoy the sport, a chance to learn and improve their skills and compete with their peers. Third, the Mixed Martial Arts program offers members a chance to learn some effective and useful self-defense techniques for the street.

Our Teen & Adult Mixed Martial Arts program offers an intense workout similar to the workouts of professional fighters in Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®), World Extreme Cagefighting® (WEC®), STRIKEFORCE™, M-1 Global, International Fight League (IFL), ProElite EliteXC, and Pride.

The Teen & Adult Mixed Martial Arts class will use the effective basic training skills, conditioning drills, punches, kicks, elbow & knee strikes of Muay Thai Kickboxing. The program will also add the basic throws of Judo, the ground fighting of Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling, and the self-defense skills of traditional Karate. This class puts the proven skills of all these arts together to make a simple, yet effective, art of self-defense.

We welcome all newcomers regardless of their ability or level. So feel free to come and participate in two free classes to see if this is the place you want to ROLL!

Schedule a free, no obligation, introductory class online or call (610) 841-7010.

Youth Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) (Ages 8 - 13) Class Description

The Youth Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) program teaches the same striking and grappling techniques utilized in the Teen & Adult MMA program and Mixed Martial Arts competitions. The Youth MMA program develops the punching, kicking, and ground fighting skills of the younger students to prepare them for the Teen & Adult MMA program or youth competitions. Youth MMA students who wish to test their MMA skills may enter Grappling competitions and/or Kickboxing fights (with a parent's permission).

The Youth Mixed Martial Arts program is also a great complement to a young wrestler's training in the off-season. The ground fighting skills taught in the Youth MMA program are based on Greco-Roman Wrestling, Submission Grappling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and can help to enhance any wrestler's skill level.

The conditioning provided by the workouts in the Youth Mixed Martial Arts program also make it an excellent form of exercise to increase a child's overall fitness level.
